Given that I am going to be here in HK for a couple of months, I thought I would join the local gym. I have absolutely no idea what ‘girly bouncing’ is but I will admit to being curious.
And the winner of the ‘biggest Christmas decoration’ spotting competition is……me!
Getting cabin fever from seeing so much concrete and neon. So I bought a plant. I have called him Martin - it just seemed like the right name. Anyone who knows my history with plants will understand he probably doesn’t have long for this world. His life will be short but at least it will have purpose.
Whilst I am clear on the rationale for putting example plastic food plates in the window, I am not sure it encourages me to go in and buy anything….what do you think? Somebody, somewhere must make their living making those things. Weird.
[Scene at a cheese and wine evening] - we come in part way through when our hero is introducing himself to a potential new friend…..with disastrous consequences….
“Oh, hi Albert, nice to meet you too - what do you do for a living?”
“Well, you know those example plastic food plates you see in shop windows, I make those for a living”
“Oh, OK, Nice, do you find your work fulfilling?” -
“Oh, yes, I love it - I am particularly well known for my imitation spaghetti, very difficult to get right you know.”
“Fascinating, really - but do excuse me wont you, Albert, I need to go and get more wine and cheese.”
I am not sure the term ‘lazy boy’ quite covers it. I tried one…..and I have to say they are AWESOME - full massage capability, the works. Might have some work to do before Kerry-Lyn lets one in the house though. Maybe when I make enough to have that custom underground gaming room built…..ONWARDS!
CATS! ! First cats I have seen since I got here. Three of them all in one go….saw them out of my bedroom window this morning. That’s a public rooftop so I might go and visit them one morning. I wonder why there are so few around. There are plenty of dogs….although mostly small ones carried in holdalls.
As the name of a clothes shop, it’s just not working for me.
This weekend, I headed over to the other side of Hong Kong island. I stopped at Repulse Bay and took this….then headed around to Stanley and checked out the market. Most of all, it was nice to be out of the concrete jungle, see the sea and the sky. I am really enjoying Hong Kong but it’s very crowded and I am starting to get a bit stir crazy.
I know it’s a cliché - but it had to be done. This is the view of Hong Kong island from the Star Ferry on the way back from Kowloon. Genuinely stunning —— a cliché for a good reason!
Doing my own laundry here in the building is proving somewhat time consuming……I have to wait by the dryers to make sure I am there when it stops!!!!
